Specialized Scientific Workshop: “Statistics and Calculus – Mathematical Tools for Decision-Making”

Under the patronage of Assistant Professor Dr. Diyah Kammil Shary, Dean of the Technological Institute, the Department of Power Mechanics Technologies organized a specialized scientific workshop titled: “Statistics and Calculus – Mathematical Tools for Decision-Making.” The session was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Ashwaq Talib Abdulnabi.

The workshop aimed to highlight the significance of mathematical concepts—particularly statistics and calculus—in supporting decision-making processes across scientific and professional fields.

It included a comprehensive introduction to the fundamental principles of both disciplines, followed by theoretical and practical segments that demonstrated their complementary nature and their application in problem analysis and effective, data-driven decision-making.

Real-world case studies from professional environments were also presented, helping participants better understand how these mathematical tools can be utilized in various workplace settings, especially within engineering and industrial technology sectors.

This workshop is part of the department’s ongoing efforts to enhance staff capabilities and strengthen the link between academic knowledge and modern practical applications.
