The Department of Power Mechanical Technologies is one of the main technological departments at the Technical Institute in Basra and is moving towards expanding the base of technical education and its modern applications to be a leader in providing technical services based on the spirit of competition and cooperation with the community.
The Department of Power Mechanical Technologies adopts a general mission based in its general form on the framework of technical education in Iraq. A mission that seeks to achieve every year to highlight the face of excellence for the department. The general objectives are centered on graduating national technical cadres at a high level of education and training that are able to absorb technology systems and support the process of rapid global technical developments and the general mission includes the following:
— Use of computer and Internet technologies in education and training.
— Activating the relationship with the private sector in the areas of training.
— Follow up on the development of training plan curricula and modernization of laboratories and workshops.
— Interaction with the labor market and the needs of the community in rehabilitation and training.
The department aims to prepare technical cadres that are a link between the specialist and the skilled worker, and the scientific branch prepares and prepares the graduate and provides him with theoretical, applied and practical information to be able to carry out the work assigned to him.
Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Branch :
- Contribute to the preparation and reading of mechanical and electrical maps for installation, operation and maintenance purposes.
- Contribute to the installation and operation of refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
- Contribute to the completion of calculations and mapping for the preliminary and final engineering of refrigeration equipment.
- Daily programmed monitoring of the performance of refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment and performing maintenance and repairs.
Graduates are awarded a technical diploma in Power Mechanics/Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Techniques
Automotive branch:
- Ability to identify mechanical and electrical failures of automobiles by modern methods.
- Carrying out regular maintenance work on gasoline and diesel cars.
- Ability to manage and operate service and maintenance stations.
