The Institute of Technology and Technical Studies in Basra organized an awareness campaign on the dangers of drugs.
Under the patronage of the Dean of the Institute of Technology and Technical Studies in Basra, Assistant Professor Dr. Diyah Kamel Shary, the University Psychological Guidance Unit, in cooperation with the Department of Mechanical Technologies and the Media and Government Communication Division, organized an awareness campaign entitled “The Dangers of Drugs,” as part of the National Security Strategy (Iraq First).
The campaign aimed to raise students’ awareness of the health, psychological, and social harms resulting from drug abuse, and to highlight its negative impacts on both individuals and society, in addition to promoting a culture of prevention and avoiding risky behaviors.
The organizers emphasized the importance of concerted institutional and educational efforts to combat this phenomenon, stressing the role of continuous awareness in protecting youth and building a conscious and safe society.
The event was supervised by Dr. Ali Fakher Habib, and witnessed notable engagement from both staff and students, who showed strong interest in such purposeful activities that contribute to enhancing their awareness and positive behavior.
