The Southern Technical University Council Holds Its Eighth Session at the Technological Technical Institute in Basra

The Southern Technical University Council held its eighth session for the 2024–2025 academic year at the Dean’s Office of the Technological Technical Institute in Basra. The session was chaired by Prof. Dr. Adnan Abdullah Atiq, President of the Southern Technical University, and attended by Prof. Dr. Waleed Abdul-Jaleel, Vice President for Scientific Affairs, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Kazem Haneef Hassan, Vice President for Administrative Affairs. Also in attendance were the deans of colleges and institutes, the Secretary of the University Council, the Director of the President’s Office, and several department heads.

The meeting addressed several key topics related to enhancing the educational process and improving academic performance. Foremost among them was the emphasis on adhering to regulations and guidelines for the upcoming final examinations to ensure their smooth and lawful execution.

The council also discussed proposals for the establishment of new departments aligned with labor market needs, the introduction of evening study programs for the next academic year, and the launch of a comprehensive plan to update curricula for the 2025–2026 academic year to reflect recent scientific and technological advancements.
