Under the patronage of the Dean of Basra Engineering Polytechnic College, Assistant Professor Dr. Diyah Kammel Shary, the Continuing Education Unit, in cooperation with the Department of Surveying Techniques Engineering and the Media and Government Communication Division, organized a specialized workshop entitled “The Polytechnic System and Its Role in Advancing Technical Education.”

The workshop was delivered by Ms. Khadija Yahya Muheil and was attended by members of the College, with the aim of raising awareness of the functions and objectives of this modern educational system.

The workshop addressed the key principles of the Polytechnic system and its positive impact on advancing the educational and training processes. The main topics discussed included:

• Work-Ready Graduates: Preparing qualified graduates equipped with the skills needed for employment and innovation.
• Modern Technologies: Integrating advanced technologies into education and training.
• Meeting Labor Market Needs: Providing specialized training aligned directly with the requirements of industry and the labor market.
• Applied Knowledge: Integrating academic learning with practical and field-based skills.

The event was held in the College’s Central Conference Hall, with the participation and active engagement of a number of academic and administrative staff members.
