Minister of Communications Directs the Deployment of an FTTH Network in the Southern Technical University Staff Housing Complex
During a meeting between the President of the Southern Technical University, Professor Dr. Adnan Abdullah Atiq, and the Minister of Communications, Engineer Mustafa Sanad, a number of issues aimed at improving the services provided to university staff were discussed, with a particular focus on telecommunications and internet services.
In an effort to provide modern, reliable internet and telecommunications services for the university’s teaching and administrative staff, the Minister of Communications directed Iraq National Company, a partner of the Ministry of Communications, to deploy a Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) network in the residential complex designated for university staff within the Technical Complex.
The Minister further directed that the project be implemented under the supervision of the technical teams of the Basra Communications Directorate, in accordance with the technical specifications and standards adopted by the Ministry of Communications. This is intended to ensure the provision of high-quality telecommunications and internet services that keep pace with technological advancements and meet the needs of university staff.
These directives are part of broader efforts to support academic institutions by providing their staff with an improved technical and service environment. They also reflect the commitment to strengthening cooperation between the Southern Technical University and the Ministry of Communications in ways that serve the university community.
