Faculty Member at Basra Engineering Polytechnic College Participates in the Discussion of a Master’s Thesis on Improving Energy Efficiency in Nearly Zero-Energy Buildings

In the presence of Professor Dr. Adnan Abdullah Atiq, President of Southern Technical University, Assistant Professor Dr. Duna Tariq Yaseen, a faculty member at Basra Engineering Polytechnic College, Department of Mechanical Engineering Technologies, participated in the discussion of a Master’s thesis entitled “Enhanced Energy Performance in Nearly Zero-Energy Buildings.”

The thesis was submitted by postgraduate student Hawraa Abdulilah Habib as part of the Master of Science program in Thermal Mechanical Engineering Technologies and was discussed at Basra Engineering Technical College.

The discussion committee comprised:

The thesis addressed the improvement of energy efficiency in nearly zero-energy buildings by examining the factors affecting energy performance and analyzing approaches to enhancing energy utilization. The study aimed to reduce energy consumption and promote sustainability in buildings.

The discussion featured an extensive academic exchange on the research methodology and findings. The researcher presented the key outcomes of her study and responded to questions and inquiries raised by the committee members, who commended the academic quality of the thesis and the practical significance of its subject matter.

At the conclusion of the discussion, the committee approved the award of a Master’s degree with a “Very Good” grade in recognition of the student’s research efforts and the contribution of her study to the field of energy efficiency and its engineering applications.
