Head of the Department of Surveying Engineering Technologies at Basra Engineering Polytechnic College Participates in Reviewing a Scientific Paper for an International Conferenc

Dr. Haider Abdulhussein Al Diwan, Head of the Department of Surveying Engineering Technologies at Basra Engineering Polytechnic College, participated in reviewing a scientific paper as part of the activities of the 10th International Conference on Computer Science and Application Engineering CSAE 2026.

The conference addressed various fields of computer science and application engineering, as well as artificial intelligence and deep learning applications.

The scientific contribution involved the application of signal processing and artificial intelligence techniques in data analysis and prediction. These technologies have significant applications in civil engineering, structural engineering and earthquake engineering.

Such techniques can be employed to analyze seismic signals and vibrations, process sensor data, monitor structural behavior and detect abnormal changes that may indicate structural damage. They can also support the development of Structural Health Monitoring SHM systems for the continuous assessment of building safety.

The integration of artificial intelligence and signal processing also contributes to the development of models capable of predicting seismic behavior, assessing structural damage and supporting maintenance, strengthening and rehabilitation decisions. This enhances structural safety, promotes sustainability and reduces the risks associated with damage and structural failure.

This participation reflects the College’s scientific and academic activities and highlights the importance of integrating civil engineering with artificial intelligence and signal processing to develop modern engineering solutions for addressing seismic risks and maintaining structural safety.
