Dean of the Technological Technical Institute in Basra Chairs Master’s Thesis Defense Committee at the Basra Engineering Technical College
The Dean of the Technological Technical Institute in Basra, Assistant Professor Dr. Diyah Kammel Shary, participated as the head of the examination committee in the defense of a Master’s thesis entitled:
“DC Motor Control Systems Using MATLAB-Based Hardware-in-the-Loop Simulation.”
The thesis was submitted by the student Batool Ahmed Younis as part of the Master of Science program in Electrical Engineering Technologies, which was held at the Basra Engineering Technical College, in the presence of the President of the Southern Technical University, Professor Dr. Adnan Abdullah Atiq.
The examination committee comprised the following members:
- Assistant Professor Dr. Diyah Kammel Shary – Electrical Engineering / Power and Machines, Southern Technical University / Technological Technical Institute in Basra – Chair.
- Assistant Professor Dr. Iyad Qasim Hussein – Control and Systems Engineering, Middle Technical University / Electrical Engineering Technical College – Member.
- Dr. Haider Khalil Ibrahim – Power and Electrical Machines Engineering, Southern Technical University / Engineering Technical College in Basra – Member.
- Assistant Professor Dr. Haider Dawood Aboud – Electrical Engineering / Electrical Power Engineering, Southern Technical University / Engineering Technical College in Basra – Member and Supervisor.
- Assistant Professor Dr. Bayader Abdulrazzaq Isa – Electrical Engineering / Control and Computer Engineering, Southern Technical University / Engineering Technical College in Basra – Member and Supervisor.
The thesis addressed the study of DC motor speed control systems using PID controllers combined with intelligent tuning techniques during operation, aiming to improve system response, enhance performance efficiency, and reduce operational errors in line with recent developments in intelligent control applications and industrial automation.
The defense witnessed an extensive scientific discussion during which the student presented the main objectives, methodology, and results of her research, responding to the committee’s questions and observations. The committee commended the significance and scientific value of the research.
