The Department of Chemical and Petroleum Industries Technologies at the Technological Technical Institute in Basra organized a volunteer campaign dedicated to tree planting, as part of its commitment to promoting environmental sustainability and enhancing green spaces within the community.

Under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Diyah Kammel Shary, Dean of the Technological Technical Institute in Basra, the Department of Chemical and Petroleum Industries Technologies, in cooperation with the Student Activities Division, organized a volunteer campaign to plant a number of saplings across the institute’s campus, with active participation from faculty members and students.

The campaign aims to expand green spaces and improve the campus environment, in addition to promoting a culture of environmental awareness and encouraging the preservation of trees, given their vital role in air purification and in enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the educational institution.

The initiative included planting various types of saplings in different locations throughout the institute, as well as preparing the soil and providing essential plant care requirements to ensure healthy growth.

Participants emphasized the importance of such initiatives in fostering a spirit of volunteerism and a sense of belonging, noting that these activities contribute significantly to building a healthy and sustainable university environment
