Technological Technical Institute in Basra Holds Scientific Workshop as Part of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Week 2025

For the third consecutive day, and as part of the activities of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Week 2025, under the patronage of Assistant Professor Dr. Diyah Kammel Shary, Dean of the Technological Technical Institute in Basra, a specialized scientific workshop was held entitled:

“Entrepreneurship in Advanced Telecommunications Services 5G/6G – Opportunities and Challenges.”

The workshop was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Abdulnasser Abduljabbar Abboud, faculty member of the Electronics Technologies Department.

The session extensively covered the following topics:

  • Introduction to the infrastructure of advanced fifth-generation (5G) telecommunications networks and an outlook on sixth-generation (6G) networks, including key technical differences between modern and previous generations.

  • The role of advanced telecommunications technologies in supporting digital transformation, building smart cities, and enabling intelligent services across various sectors.

  • Highlighting potential entrepreneurial opportunities in the telecommunications sector, particularly in Internet of Things (IoT) services, edge computing, and high-speed network-based smart applications.

  • Shedding light on investment opportunities and emerging entrepreneurial projects that Institute students and graduates can develop within telecommunications and digital services.

  • Discussing technical, regulatory, and legislative challenges, as well as issues related to information security, data privacy, and the infrastructure required for implementing 5G and 6G technologies.

The workshop witnessed wide engagement from faculty members and students, including scientific questions, interactive discussions, and open debates about the prospects of entrepreneurship in advanced telecommunications, emphasizing the importance of linking student projects to local market needs and fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship within the Institute.
