“Smart Transition from Word to LaTeX in Writing Scientific Research and Theses.”
The course was conducted by Dr. Mahmoud Aref Al-Shreida. It aimed to introduce participants to the LaTeX environment as a globally recognized professional tool for preparing theses and scientific papers. The course also highlighted its advantages over Microsoft Word, including academic accuracy, stability with large files, and ease of managing references and mathematical equations.
The training included practical demonstrations on creating research templates using Overleaf, automatic reference management via BibTeX, and a hands-on comparison of final outputs between Word and LaTeX.
This course is part of a series of scientific activities offered by the Institute to enhance researchers’ and students’ efficiency in using modern tools for scientific research. The course lasted for three days.
