A scientific seminar on intellectual property and copyright in scientific research at the Technological Institute.
Under the patronage of the Dean of the Technological Institute, Assistant Professor Dr. Arkan Yaqub Yusuf, the Research Unit at the Technological Institute organized a scientific seminar titled “Intellectual Property and Copyright in Scientific Research.”
The seminar was presented by Lecturer M.M. Ilham Amer Sahe, who discussed the importance of intellectual property as a fundamental pillar for supporting the research environment and stimulating scientific creativity. The lecture emphasized that the application of intellectual property laws in educational institutions significantly contributes to improving the performance of these institutions and encourages researchers to innovate.
She also explained that intellectual property enhances the transfer of technology between academic institutions and countries, which contributes to the development of sciences and knowledge, in addition to providing both national and international legal protection for researchers and patent holders, whether the protection is material or moral.
The lecture highlighted that strengthening intellectual property laws drives researchers toward greater intellectual and creative production, which positively impacts the progress of educational institutions and the development of societies.
The seminar concluded with an interactive discussion session that addressed the attendees’ inquiries about the applications of intellectual property in scientific research and the main challenges faced by researchers in this field.
