Arabic Language Day: A Scientific Seminar at the Technological Institute in Basra
Under the patronage of Mr. Arkan Yaqoub Youssef, the Dean of the Technological Institute in Basra, the Department of Mechanical Technology organized a scientific seminar to commemorate Arabic Language Day, titled “The Main Challenges Facing the Arabic Language.”
The seminar was delivered by Dr. Ali Fakher Habib, who discussed the history of the Arabic language and highlighted prominent linguists and grammarians who contributed to its development. The seminar also included a presentation of important statistics that emphasized the status of the Arabic language, noting that it is one of the richest languages in terms of vocabulary compared to others.
The speaker presented a set of strategies to protect the Arabic language and enhance its role across various fields, particularly in scientific domains and Arabization efforts. The seminar emphasized the importance of moving away from colloquial dialects and reinforcing Modern Standard Arabic in education and culture.
