The College Council of Basra Engineering Polytechnic College held its third session, chaired by the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Diyah Kammel Shary, with the attendance of the Council members. The session addressed a number of issues related to the progress of the educational process and preparations for the 2026–2027 academic year.

The Council discussed the necessary preparations for welcoming first-year students who will be enrolled under the Bologna Process, emphasizing the need to complete all academic, administrative, and technical requirements to ensure the effective implementation of the process.

The Council also stressed the importance of maintaining regular attendance and continuity of classes for second-year students to ensure the smooth delivery of the educational process and the achievement of the established academic objectives.

The meeting further addressed the completion of plans for welcoming graduates of vocational preparatory schools admitted this year under the Bologna Process, as well as preparing the necessary requirements for the commencement of their academic studies in accordance with the procedures and requirements of the process.

On the research front, the Council emphasized the need to direct scientific research toward addressing industrial challenges and developing practical solutions that contribute to advancing productive and service sectors, while strengthening the College’s role in serving the community.

The Council also highlighted the importance of further strengthening its distinguished cooperation with various governmental and private-sector institutions and expanding areas of partnership and coordination. Such efforts aim to foster greater integration between the educational institution, state institutions, and the private sector, thereby contributing to community service and supporting sustainable development.

The session concluded with an emphasis on following up on the implementation of the recommendations and decisions adopted, with the aim of enhancing the academic and administrative performance of the College.
