As part of bilateral academic cooperation and the College’s commitment to contributing specialized expertise to the academic community, Assistant Professor Dr. Abdul Nasser Abdul Jabbar Abboud, a faculty member in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Techniques at Basra Engineering Polytechnic College and Director of the Electronic Computing Center at the University Presidency, participated as a member of the Master’s thesis defense committee for student Abbas Hassan Ali at the Department of Electrical Engineering, College of Engineering, University of Basrah.

The thesis, entitled:

“Design of Sharp-Edge Microwave Bandpass Filters for Selective Communication in the 5G Mid-Band”

examined the design and fabrication of advanced Microstrip Bandpass Filters featuring highly selective and sharp filter edges to meet the requirements of 5G Mid-Band communication systems. The research addressed frequency interference between adjacent channels while aiming to ensure efficient data transmission with very low insertion loss.

Following a rigorous scientific defense and thorough academic discussion, the thesis was approved, and the student was awarded a Very Good (High) grade.

Dr. Abdul Nasser Abdul Jabbar Abboud’s participation reflects the scientific and academic activities of Southern Technical University and highlights the expertise of its faculty members and their active engagement in academic and research forums.
