Under the patronage of the Dean of the Technological Technical Institute in Basra, Asst. Prof. Dr. Diyah Kammel Shary, and as part of the University Psychological Counseling Week, the University Psychological Counseling Unit organized a volunteer awareness campaign in collaboration with the Department of Computer Networks and Software Technologies and the Media and Government Communication Division, titled: “Social Media… Its Benefits and Impacts.”
The campaign was supervised by Asst. Lecturer Zainab Mohammed Jawar, a faculty member in the Department of Computer Networks and Software Technologies, and was attended by the department head, the department rapporteur, and the head of the University Psychological Counseling Unit.
The campaign included the distribution of various awareness leaflets highlighting the major positive and negative aspects of social media usage. These materials presented concise points and purposeful ideas aimed at promoting conscious digital behavior among students.
This campaign comes as part of the institute’s ongoing efforts to cultivate a sound digital culture and encourage students to make optimal use of communication technologies in ways that reinforce educational and societal values.
