Workshop on Aesthetics and Its Impact on Developing Critical Thinking Among Students

Under the patronage of the President of Southern Technical University, Professor Dr. Adnan Abdullah Atiq, and the supervision of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Professor Dr. Waleed Abduljaleel Awad, the University’s Scientific Affairs Department, in cooperation with the Department of Media and Government Communication and in coordination with the Basra Technological Technical Institute, held a workshop titled “Aesthetics and Its Impact on Critical Thinking Among University Students.”

The workshop was presented by Mr. Ayad Hussein Amer, Director of the Department of Media and Government Communication, in the presence of the President of Southern Technical University, Assistant Professor Dr. Diyah Kammil Shary, Dean of the Basra Technological Technical Institute, along with a group of faculty members, staff, and students.

The workshop highlighted the importance of aesthetics in cultivating intellectual and humanistic sensibilities among students, enhancing their ability to analyze and critique with an academic and refined approach. This contributes to developing their university personalities and fostering critical and creative thinking skills.

At the conclusion of the workshop, the presenter emphasized the necessity of promoting aesthetic awareness within the university environment as a gateway to forming a balanced and creative mindset. This, in turn, supports elevating general taste and reinforces the spirit of belonging to both the university and the wider community.
