Sponsored by Assistant Professor Dr. Diyah Kammel Shary , Dean of the Technological Technical Institute, the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit, in collaboration with the Department of Mechanical Technologies, the Media Division, and the Student Activities Division, organized an awareness seminar titled “Raising Awareness of the Dangers of Addiction and Its Effects on Individuals and Society.”
The seminar was delivered by Dr. Ali Fakher Habib, a faculty member in the Department of Mechanical Technologies and the Head of the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit. The session addressed several key topics, including the definition of drugs, the symptoms of addiction, its psychological and physical harms, and its negative impact on families and society.
The seminar also presented recent statistics on the effects of drugs and the social and economic problems resulting from addiction, while emphasizing prevention strategies and awareness methods to reduce the spread of this phenomenon. The seminar concluded by highlighting the prohibition of alcohol in Islamic law and the role of religious values in protecting youth.
