Sponsored by Assistant Professor Dr. Diyah Kammel Shary , Dean of the Technological Technical Institute, the Department of Civil Engineering, in collaboration with the Rehabilitation, Employment, and Follow-up Unit and the Student Activities Division, organized a scientific workshop for students and graduates titled “Concrete and Construction Materials as Sustainable Building Materials.”
The workshop was presented by a group of students from the Civil Engineering Department, under the supervision of workshop coordinator Ms. Khadija Yahya Mohail and Mr. Amjad Mudar Abdulhamid. The session highlighted the importance of using eco-friendly concrete and construction materials as sustainable alternatives in modern building projects.
The workshop was attended by notable figures, including Dr. Hanadi, Head of the Civil Engineering Department, Dr. Iyad Abdelkhaleq, Head of the Scientific Affairs Department at the Southern Technical University, and Ms. Kamila Tawfiq Fadl, Head of the Technological Incubator at the Southern Technical University. The event also saw participation from a distinguished group of faculty members and students.
The goal of the workshop was to raise student awareness about the importance of sustainability in the construction sector and encourage them to engage in research and development within this vital field to keep pace with modern scientific and technological advancements.
