Under the patronage of the Dean of the Technical Institute of Technology, Assistant Professor Dr. Arkan Yaqub Yusuf, the Purposeful Content Team, in collaboration with the Student Activities Department at the institute, organized an awareness seminar titled “Hospitality of Allah or Hospitality of Screens? How to Make the Most of the Blessed Month.”

The seminar was presented by Ms. Shafaq Qasim Rady, a member of the Purposeful Content Team at the university, where she discussed the negative impacts of individuals getting preoccupied with television programs, drama series, and foreign content, which divert them from the primary goal of the holy month of Ramadan.

The lecture highlighted the importance of investing the days and nights of the holy month in drawing closer to Allah, refining the soul, reflecting, and considering Ramadan as a golden opportunity to reorganize priorities and develop oneself on both spiritual and intellectual levels. The speaker also addressed the dangers of empty, commercially-driven programs and content that aim to alter societal customs and turn Ramadan into a commercial season linked to TV series and entertainment programs, which negatively impacts its spiritual essence.

The seminar concluded with a discussion session that saw active participation from the attendees, who emphasized the importance of raising community awareness on how to positively utilize the month of Ramadan.
