The Student Activities Department at Basra Technical Institute, in collaboration with the Cultural Assembly in Basra, organized a cultural seminar on the topic of “The Deterioration of Folk Poetry in the Face of Commercial Media Programs and the Foreign Culture’s Efforts to Erase History, Heritage, and Folklore.” After the seminar, which was presented by Mr. Ali Kareem, a selection of poems by young folk poets was recited, greatly appreciated by the audience for their relevance to the general taste and topics that resonate with the youth’s lives.
