As part of the collaboration between the Southern Technical University and Shatt Al-Arab University College, a scientific visit was organized to enhance the practical skills of students in the Power Mechanical Engineering department.

The laboratory and workshop unit at the Technological Institute/Basra hosted a scientific visit for students from the Engineering Technical College in the Power Mechanical Engineering department, as part of the joint activities between the Southern Technical University and Shatt Al-Arab University College.

The visit included a comprehensive field tour of the institute’s workshops, where students observed the machine workshop, welding shop, and foundry. Experienced faculty members provided detailed explanations about the mechanisms of the machines and their applications, which greatly impressed the students and significantly enhanced their practical skills by linking theoretical knowledge with practical application.

The professor accompanying the students, Mr. Abdul Khaliq Abdul Ali, praised the great development witnessed by the Institute’s workshops, expressing his appreciation for the efficiency of the professors and their professionalism in communicating information. He added that this visit represents an important step in enhancing the practical skills of students, which positively reflects on their academic and professional level.
These initiatives come within the efforts of the two universities to enhance scientific cooperation and develop practical skills for students, which contributes to the preparation of distinguished engineering cadres that meet the needs of the labor market.
