Under the patronage of the Southern Technical University and in coordination with the Women Empowerment Unit, the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit at the Technological Technical Institute in Basra organized an interactive in-person awareness seminar entitled “The Role of Women in Maintaining Security and Peace.”

The seminar was delivered by Mrs. Shafaq Qasim Radi, Head of the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit at the Institute and member of the Women Empowerment Committee (in person), and Dr. Salman Fayyadh Al-Ali, specialist supervisor in psychological counseling and member of the Human Rights Committee in Education (in person). The seminar also featured an online contribution by Ms. Nadia Al-Bazzaz, lawyer, legal consultant, and Head of the Immigration Department in the United Kingdom.

The seminar was attended by the Dean of the Technological Technical Institute in Basra, Dr. Wathiq Al-Ramadhan, the Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, Mr. Maher Kazem, along with a number of faculty members, staff, and students from all departments.

The sessions addressed key themes related to the role of women in promoting peace and security, followed by active discussions and interactive engagement between the audience and the speakers, enriching the seminar’s academic and societal outcomes.
