{"id":41862,"date":"2026-09-12T14:16:04","date_gmt":"2026-09-12T11:16:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bti.stu.edu.iq\/?p=41862"},"modified":"2026-09-12T17:18:15","modified_gmt":"2026-09-12T14:18:15","slug":"faculty-member-at-basra-engineering-polytechnic-college-participates-in-the-discussion-of-a-masters-thesis-on-improving-energy-efficiency-in-nearly-zero-energy-buildings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bti.stu.edu.iq\/en\/41862\/","title":{"rendered":"Faculty Member at Basra Engineering Polytechnic College Participates in the Discussion of a Master\u2019s Thesis on Improving Energy Efficiency in Nearly Zero-Energy Buildings"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<p>In the presence of Professor Dr. Adnan Abdullah Atiq, President of Southern Technical University, Assistant Professor Dr. Duna Tariq Yaseen, a faculty member at Basra Engineering Polytechnic College, Department of Mechanical Engineering Technologies, participated in the discussion of a Master\u2019s thesis entitled\u00a0\u201cEnhanced Energy Performance in Nearly Zero-Energy Buildings.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The thesis was submitted by postgraduate student\u00a0Hawraa Abdulilah Habib\u00a0as part of the\u00a0Master of Science program in Thermal Mechanical Engineering Technologies\u00a0and was discussed at Basra Engineering Technical College.<\/p>\n<p>The discussion committee comprised:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Professor Dr. Ahmed Kadhim Mohammed\u00a0\u2013 University of Maysan \/ College of Engineering \u2013 Chair.<\/li>\n<li>Assistant Professor Dr. Duna Tariq Yaseen\u00a0\u2013 Southern Technical University \/ Basra Engineering Polytechnic College \u2013 Member.<\/li>\n<li>Lecturer Dr. Rand Abdul Sattar Abd\u00a0\u2013 Southern Technical University \/ Basra Engineering Technical College \u2013 Member.<\/li>\n<li>Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Latif Tareesh\u00a0\u2013 Southern Technical University \/ Al-Qurna Polytechnic College \u2013 Member and Supervisor.<\/li>\n<li>Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Hussein Nasser\u00a0\u2013 Southern Technical University \/ Basra Engineering Technical College \u2013 Member and Supervisor.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The thesis addressed the improvement of energy efficiency in nearly zero-energy buildings by examining the factors affecting energy performance and analyzing approaches to enhancing energy utilization. The study aimed to reduce energy consumption and promote sustainability in buildings.<\/p>\n<p>The discussion featured an extensive academic exchange on the research methodology and findings. The researcher presented the key outcomes of her study and responded to questions and inquiries raised by the committee members, who commended the academic quality of the thesis and the practical significance of its subject matter.<\/p>\n<p>At the conclusion of the discussion, the committee approved the award of a\u00a0Master\u2019s degree with a \u201cVery Good\u201d grade\u00a0in recognition of the student\u2019s research efforts and the contribution of her study to the field of energy efficiency and its engineering applications.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><strong><img
