Following the directives of the department head, Dr. Assad Faraj, the Medical Laboratory Technology Department, in collaboration with the Rehabilitation and Employment Unit, organized a course on the use of modern technologies in laboratory diagnostics for first-year students, on the first day of the course, Ms. Fatima Ayad Hassan delivered a lecture on immunohistochemical staining, which involves staining cells. Initially utilizing fluorescent dyes for immunofluorescence, this technique now employs non-fluorescent methods, including enzymatic reactions with enzymes like peroxidase and alkaline phosphatase. These enzymes stimulate reactions producing easily detectable colored products, observable through light microscopy. Additionally, radioactive elements can serve as markers.
