The Technical Technological Institute in Basra Organizes a Scientific Workshop on “Program Accreditation as a Tool for Ensuring Academic Quality in Universities”

Under the patronage of Assistant Professor Dr. Dhiaa Kamil Shari, Dean of the Institute, and with the participation of a distinguished group of academics and administrators, the Technical Technological Institute in Basra held a scientific workshop titled “Program Accreditation as a Tool for Ensuring Academic Quality in Universities.”

The workshop featured lectures by:

• Assistant Professor Dr. Dhiaa Kamil Shari, who presented a detailed overview of the importance of program accreditation in enhancing academic performance and ensuring educational outcomes that meet global quality standards.

• Dr. Rand Abdul Sattar, who reviewed the practical application mechanisms of program accreditation criteria and the role of internal committees in implementing strategic plans to guarantee quality.

The workshop targeted various academic and administrative groups, including heads of scientific departments, department coordinators, and quality liaison officers. Participants discussed several key topics, including:

• The fundamental principles of program accreditation

• The role of accreditation in improving the ranking of academic institutions

• Challenges and obstacles in its implementation and ways to overcome them

This event aims to raise institutional awareness about the importance of adhering to quality standards and to motivate the institute’s staff to develop study programs according to the latest nationally and internationally accredited systems.
