Under the patronage of the Dean of the Technological Technical Institute, Assistant Professor Dr. Arkan Yaqoub Youssef, the Research Unit at the institute organized a scientific seminar titled “Intellectual Property and Copyright in Scientific Research.”
The seminar was presented by lecturer Ms. Ilham Omair Sahi, who highlighted the importance of intellectual property as a cornerstone for fostering a research-friendly environment and promoting scientific creativity. She emphasized that implementing intellectual property laws in educational institutions significantly enhances their performance and encourages researchers to innovate.
Ms. Ilham further explained that intellectual property facilitates the transfer of technology between academic institutions and countries, contributing to the advancement of science and knowledge. It also provides national and international legal protection for researchers and patent holders, both materially and morally.
She underscored that strengthening intellectual property laws drives researchers toward greater intellectual and creative output, positively impacting the progress of educational institutions and the development of societies.
The seminar concluded with an interactive discussion session, addressing participants’ questions about the applications of intellectual property in scientific research and the key challenges researchers face in this field.
