The Technical Institute of Technology Launches the Iraqi Week for Drug Prevention Activities. Under the patronage of Associate Professor Dr. Arkan Yaqoub Yusuf, Dean of the Technical Institute of Technology, the Iraqi Week for Drug Prevention activities kicked off today as part of national efforts to raise awareness about the dangers of drugs and their negative effects on society. The event commenced with an opening speech delivered by the Dean, who emphasized the vital role of educational institutions in raising awareness among youth about the risks of drugs, noting that this initiative reflects the institute’s commitment to its social and educational responsibilities. The event was attended by Professor Dr. Adnan Abdullah Atyq, President of the Southern Technical University, along with the accompanying ministerial delegation, as well as the administrative and financial assistant, Mr. Murtadha Mohammed Bandar, the scientific assistant, Dr. Nazih Abdul Jabbar, faculty members, and students from various departments. The activities included an awareness seminar titled “The Plague of Drugs and Its Impact on Society,” conducted in collaboration with the Drug Control and Psychoactive Substances Directorate.The activities included an awareness seminar entitled “The Scourge of Drugs and Its Impact on Society”, in cooperation with the Directorate of Combating Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances. The lecture was presented by Colonel Ali Mohsen Hamid, a legal expert, who reviewed the types of drugs and their dangerous effects on the individual and society, and the role of the family in combating this scourge. At the end of the seminar, the Dean of the Institute honored the lecturer, Colonel Ali Mohsen Hamid, in appreciation of his efforts in raising awareness of the dangers of drugs, where a certificate of appreciation was presented to express the Institute’s gratitude for his effective contribution. These activities come within the framework of the Technological Institute’s keenness to enhance the culture of community prevention and consolidate the values of awareness and responsibility among students.
