Basra Technical Institute Leads Arbaeen Pilgrimage Service Activities under the Supervision of Southern Technical University
In a solemn and deeply spiritual setting, marked by faith and devotion, Basra Technical Institute extended distinguished voluntary services to the pilgrims of Imam Hussein’s Arbaeen. These efforts were organized by the Institute’s staff under the direct guidance and supervision of the Presidency of Southern Technical University, represented by its President, Professor Dr. Adnan Abdullah Atiq.
The Institute’s team provided water, juices, and meals to the pilgrims journeying to the holy city of Karbala — a humanitarian initiative that reflects the spirit of generosity and sacrifice inspired by the values of Imam Hussein’s legacy.
The initiative witnessed the participation of Professor Dr. Adnan Abdullah Atiq, President of Southern Technical University; Assistant Professor Dr. Dhiya Kammel Shary, Dean of Basra Technical Institute; Mr. Murtadha Mohammed Bandar, Assistant Dean for Administrative and Financial Affairs; Mr. Iyad Al-Imarah, Director of the University Media Department; Mr. Ali Mahmoud, Director of Student Activities; heads of the Media and Maintenance Units at the Institute; and several other dedicated staff members.
This act of service transcends mere voluntary work; it embodies the social mission embraced by Southern Technical University and its affiliated institutions — integrating academic knowledge with community service and demonstrating spiritual solidarity during significant cultural and religious occasions that uphold the community’s core values and collective identity
