A Distinguished Scientific Achievement Added to the Record of the Basra Technological Technical Institute

In a remarkable step reflecting the academic and research excellence of the Basra Technological Technical Institute, Dr. Mahmood Al-Shureida received a letter of appreciation for the third time in 2025 from the President of the Southern Technical University, Prof. Dr. Adnan Abdullah Atiq, in recognition of his outstanding role in supervising a graduation research project by students of the Electronics Techniques Department.

This project represented a significant milestone in the institute’s graduation research journey since its founding in 1973, having achieved the following:

• Won first place among all scientific departments during the 2024–2025 Student Scientific Conference, held at the institute from April 22 to 24, 2025.

• Was subsequently published in Discover Applied Sciences, a prestigious Q1-ranked international journal under Springer Nature, marking the first-ever graduation project in the institute’s history to reach this level of global recognition.

The title of the research:

Efficient Implementation of Post-Quantum Digital Signatures on Raspberry Pi

The research addresses a crucial topic in cybersecurity, focusing on the development of a post-quantum digital signature mechanism resistant to quantum computing attacks, and capable of being deployed on low-resource devices such as the Raspberry Pi.

This achievement stands as a testament to Dr. Mahmood Al-Shureida’s dedication, his unwavering belief in his students’ potential, and his commitment to guiding them toward excellence and innovation. His efforts have elevated the institute’s name on both the local and international levels.
