Training Workshop on “Pumps: Types and Industrial Applications” Held at Basra Technical Institute for Technology

Under the patronage of Assistant Professor Dr. Diyah Kammel Shary, Dean of the Basra Technical Institute for Technology, the institute organized a training workshop titled “Pumps: Types and Industrial Applications”, presented by Assistant Lecturer Marwa Kifah Badr.

The workshop aimed to familiarize participants with different types of pumps, their operating mechanisms, and various industrial applications. It also covered common malfunctions, maintenance techniques, and the technical criteria for selecting appropriate pumps.

A special focus was placed on oilfield pumps and their role in extraction and transportation processes. The session also highlighted modern pump technologies and their applications across several industrial sectors, including mechanical engineering, chemical processing, and water treatment.

This workshop is part of the institute’s ongoing efforts to enhance the technical competencies of its academic and technical staff, aligning with the evolving demands of the labor market.
