The Technical Technological Institute in Basra, under the patronage of its Dean, Assistant Professor Dr. Diyaa Kamil Shari, held a scientific symposium titled “The Impact of Technological Advancements on Heritage and Ways to Preserve It,” in collaboration with the Basra Palace of Culture and Arts.
The symposium featured a presentation by researcher Basim Hussein, Director of the Basra Palace of Culture and Arts. He addressed several key topics related to the challenges facing heritage amid rapid digital transformation, the role of technology in documenting heritage landmarks and protecting them from deterioration, as well as the importance of raising community awareness in this context.
The event was attended by a number of faculty members, affiliates, researchers, and enthusiasts interested in heritage and culture. Emphasis was placed on the necessity of cooperation between academic and cultural institutions to enhance the role of technology in serving the civilizational identity.
