Under the Patronage of the Dean of the Technical Technological Institute, Assistant Professor Dr. Diya Kammil Shary, the Department of Surveying Techniques Organizes a Scientific Seminar on the Importance of Surveying
As part of a series of scientific activities aimed at enhancing applied knowledge in engineering disciplines, the Department of Surveying Techniques at the Technical Technological Institute organized a scientific seminar entitled:
“The Importance of Surveying in Practical Applications and Its Impact on Sustainability.”
The seminar was held in collaboration with the Scientific Division and the Division of Media and Government Communication, and was attended by faculty members and staff from the department.
The seminar was delivered by Lecturer Najma Dawood Salman, who reviewed the fundamental concepts of surveying and its key applications in construction, urban planning, and development. She highlighted the crucial role of surveying in supporting sustainability projects through accurate data collection and the use of modern technologies.
The lecturer emphasized that surveying is a foundational tool in both the planning and execution phases of any project, particularly in light of rapid advancements in measurement and analysis tools such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and aerial imaging technologies.
The seminar witnessed active engagement from the audience, with several questions and interventions enriching the discussion and underscoring the significance of surveying in professional and practical contexts.
At the conclusion of the seminar, attendees expressed their appreciation to the department’s leadership and the organizers, affirming the importance of continuing such initiatives that contribute to strengthening the scientific and technical competencies of both staff and faculty members.
