The Technological Technical Institute Celebrates a New Scientific Achievement by Its Students in the Field of Cybersecurity

In a distinguished scientific achievement, students from the Department of Electronic Technologies at the Technological Technical Institute – Basra successfully published a high-quality research paper in a Q1 Scopus-indexed journal during the first quarter of 2025, under the supervision of Dr. Mahmoud Al-Shurayda.

This publication crowns a series of accomplishments by the students, who had previously participated in the Scientific Production Exhibition in Information Technologies and Artificial Intelligence, organized by the Administrative Technical College on April 8, 2025. During the event, they presented innovative practical models in the fields of cybersecurity and intelligent systems.

They also secured first place in the 2024–2025 Student Research Conference, hosted by the Technological Technical Institute on April 22–24, 2025, with the same research project, which was later developed and published.

The published paper, titled:
“Efficient Implementation of Post-Quantum Digital Signatures on Raspberry Pi”
appeared in Discover Applied Sciences, a Q1 journal indexed in both Scopus and Springer Nature. The study addresses a critical topic in cybersecurity, focusing on the implementation of quantum-resistant digital signatures on resource-constrained platforms such as the Raspberry Pi.

Dr. Mahmoud Al-Shurayda, the research supervisor, praised the students’ efforts and their ability to utilize advanced research tools and conduct precise computational experiments. He emphasized that this achievement reflects the growing research capabilities among the Institute’s students and their commitment to keeping pace with global trends in digital security.
