The Technological Technical Institute in Basra hosted a coordination meeting with leading companies as part of the Industrial Advisory Council.

In its efforts to enhance cooperation between academia and industry, the Technological Technical Institute in Basra hosted a coordination meeting of the Industrial Advisory Council on Sunday, May 25, 2025.

Representatives from three of Iraq’s top companies attended the meeting: Basra Oil Company, Oil Projects Company, and Zain Iraq.

The session was chaired by the Dean of the Institute, Dr. Diah Kammel Shary, with the presence of Dr. Abdul Nasser Abdul Jabbar, Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, and several faculty members including Dr. Mohammed Hameed Radi, Mr. Maytham Yassin Atshan, Ms. Shafaq Qasim Radi, Ms. Baneen Salam Qasim, and Ms. Anwar.

The companies were represented by:

  • Mr. Mahdi Kareem Khamees (Basra Oil Company)
  • Mr. Haider Abdulsada (Oil Projects Company)
  • Mr. Abdullah Mohammed (Zain Iraq)

During the meeting, the Institute presented its annual action plan, developed in collaboration with the Scientific Committee. The discussion focused on key areas such as:

  • Offering summer and field training opportunities for students
  • Updating curricula to match labor market needs
  • Supporting graduation projects and applied research
  • Enhancing labs with modern equipment
  • Hosting workshops and lectures by experts from the industry

Company representatives expressed strong support for the initiatives, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between technical education institutions and the private sector in preparing a skilled workforce for today’s industries.

This meeting reflects the Institute’s commitment to continuous development and its dedication to building effective partnerships that improve the quality of technical education and help meet sustainable development goals.
