Supported by the sponsorship of the Dean of the Basra Institute of Technology, Assistant Professor Dr. Diyah Kammel Shary, the Department of Mechanical Technologies / Production Branch held a workshop titled:
“Math Equation Type ,” on Sunday, May 18, 2025.
The workshop was presented by Lecturer Khawla Hashem Hussein and focused on introducing the Math Equation Type program, which is considered one of the most prominent mathematical equation editors worldwide due to its user-friendly interface and high efficiency in writing mathematical symbols and expressions.
The program is distinguished by a flexible user interface that includes a toolbar featuring over 500 mathematical symbols. It supports the creation of matrices, multi-line equations, and complex mathematical notations, making it an effective tool for students, researchers, and professionals in scientific and engineering fields.
It was also noted during the workshop that the program is currently available as a free add-in that can be integrated with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. It is regarded as a notable alternative to the built-in tools in those applications due to its easy accessibility and fast performance.
