Dean of the Technical Technological Institute in Basra Participates in PhD Dissertation Defense at the University of Basra – College of Engineering

Assistant Professor Dr. Diaa Kamel Shari, Dean of the Technical Technological Institute in Basra, participated as a member of the PhD dissertation defense committee at the Department of Electrical Engineering, College of Engineering – University of Basra. The dissertation, entitled “Performance Analysis for Power Systems Based on Machine Learning,” was presented by PhD candidate Rabiaa Hadi Hashem on Tuesday, April 29, 2025. This participation comes as part of the ongoing academic and research collaboration between the Southern Technical University and other Iraqi universities, particularly in the field of postgraduate studies. The dissertation focused on forecasting electrical power system loads during the COVID-19 pandemic using machine learning algorithms. It also included fault detection and classification through various machine learning models.
