With the patronage of the President of the Southern Technical University, Professor Dr. Adnan Abdullah Atiq, and direct supervision by the Dean of the Technical Institute of Technology in Basra, Assistant Professor Dr. Arkan Yacoub, the institute organized a communal Iftar meal for the students of the dormitory departments.
The event also featured a valuable awareness lecture presented by the Directorate of Drug Control in Basra, which addressed the destructive effects of drugs on both individuals and society, aiming to raise awareness among students about the dangers of this issue.
The Iftar was attended by several prominent administrative and academic figures, including the Administrative and Financial Assistant Professor, Mr. Mortada Muhammad Bandar, the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs, Mr. Adnan Rikaan, Dr. Maher Abdul Zahra, the Director of Continuing Education at the University, as well as Mr. Ali Mahmoud, the Director of Student Activities at the University, and officials from student activities and media at the institute, along with several institute staff members.
The meal took place at the Central Student Club at the institute, with a large turnout of students from the dormitory departments, who expressed their appreciation for this initiative, which strengthened communication bonds and the spirit of solidarity among the students.
