Students of the Mechanical Engineering Department at the Technological Institute in Basra are actively participating in raising awareness against cyber extortion.

The students engaged in this initiative as part of the Targeted Content Team’s activities, under the supervision of Ms. Shafaq Qasim Radi, a member of the university team, in a campaign focused on the dangers of cyber extortion.

The event included educating students on essential preventive measures to protect individuals from risks related to hacking and cyber extortion. This was achieved through providing practical and simplified information on electronic protection methods and the importance of responsible technology use. Additionally, awareness-raising posters were distributed to enhance community awareness regarding the seriousness of this phenomenon and ways to combat it.

These efforts are part of a broader initiative to promote a safe digital culture among students, reinforcing the role of academic institutions in combating negative phenomena that threaten individuals and society. The initiative received positive engagement from students, who emphasized the importance of such activities in boosting their awareness.
